Message from the Ambassador
The Embassy of the Republic of Angola in Hungary continues its work in strengthening the historical ties between the two countries and peoples, whose political and diplomatic relations date back to the period preceding the proclamation of National Independence and were formally established on 23 December 1975. Since then, Angola and Hungary have maintained a constructive dialogue based on mutual respect, solidarity, and cooperation between two sovereign States.
The work of this Diplomatic Mission prioritises the deepening of political, economic, academic, and cultural relations with a wide range of Hungarian institutions, promoting initiatives that foster bilateral understanding, mutually beneficial cooperation, and the appreciation of complementarities between our countries.
In parallel with its institutional dimension, the Mission assumes with commitment the responsibility of engaging with the Angolan community residing in Hungary, composed of members of the diaspora and a growing number of students. The education of these young people in internationally recognised Hungarian universities represents a strategic asset for Angola's future, and the support for the Community as a whole — its integration and valorisation — remains a permanent priority for this extension of the Angolan State.
As an Embassy with non-resident accreditation, this Diplomatic Mission is also responsible for cooperation relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of North Macedonia, countries with which Angola shares its own history and bonds of friendship that must be preserved and invigorated.
Thus, Angola reaffirms its commitment to the deepening of relations with the three States under the jurisdiction of this Embassy, always guided by a diplomacy grounded in peace, non-interference, solidarity, and common paths of progress.
The Ambassador
José Filipe
