Angola 40 Year of Independence
In the scope of the celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the National Independence occurring on the 11th of November, the Embassy of the Republic of Angola in Budapest, Hungary, has established an elaborate program in salutation to this important date of the history of our Country.
During this program, the following events occurred:
- On the 10th of November, at the Faculty of Arts, the Hungarian literary magazine called Nagyvilág (Big World) launched its 11/2015 Edition, specially dedicated to the 40th anniversary of Angola, containing writings from the Angolan literature translated to Hungarian. Afterwards, a photographic exhibition labeled “Angola 40 years” has been displayed, showing the various social, cultural, economic and diplomatic sides of Angola.
- On the 12th of November, an official reception hosted by H.E. Mrs. Lizeth Satumbo Pena, the Ambassador of Angola to Hungary, took place at the Marriott Hotel in Budapest. During this great event, the Guest of Honor was Dr. László Szabó, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, who, during his speech, congratulated Angola for its exemplary development, making it one of the fastest-growing economies in Africa.
Among the 400 guests participating at the reception were: Ambassadors, representatives of the Hungarian Government, Consuls, Honorary Consuls, local and international CEOs, members of the Academic World, people of the Angolan Community residing in Hungary as well as Hungarian Citizens and other foreigners.
- On the 13th of November, the program was closed by a cultural evening in form of a concert animated by the famous Angolan singer, Bonga, along with his musical band, entertaining and amazing about 600 with their fantastic vibrant music.
The concert was then followed by a party, during which people could dance to the rhythm of the Angolan Music.
